CSC Advanced Marine Center provides
design, engineering, program management, information technology,
and related services to government and private industry.
As a major source of marine engineering, naval architecture, and
management support services to the U.S. Navy, CSC has worked closely
with most naval ship acquisition programs since 1976. In addition
to the U.S. Navy, other clients to whom CSC has delivered services
include the U.S. Coast Guard, the Maritime Administration, the Army
Corps of Engineers, the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization, shipping
companies, and commercial shipbuilders.
CSC Advanced Marine Center offers unique total ship systems engineering
services, which cover all phases of the system life cycle. Areas
of engineering expertise include needs analysis, design, system engineering
and test and evaluation for surface combatants, auxiliary ships,
high performance craft, amphibious ships, and submarines and their
combat and mission systems. Support for pre-system acquisition efforts
includes alternative system concept development and feasibility studies,
development, and demonstration for component concepts and technologies.
System development support efforts bring a wide range of engineering
disciplines to bear on development and evaluation of system utility,
producibility, and supportability.
Program management capabilities address the three major components
of the system acquisition domain -- technology, acquisition, and
operational support. Qualified personnel and processes are in place
to support S&T management; acquisition strategy development;
financial analysis; risk management; program planning; and control;
integrated data management; lifecycle support planning and claims
analysis. Specialty services to plan, manage, and execute specific
program elements for human systems integration; test and evaluation;
environmental protection; modeling and simulation (M&S); development
and production oversight; and post-shakedown activities make us the
source for comprehensive management support.
CSC Advanced Marine Center maintains unique facilities and infrastructure
to support these efforts. The model and instrumentation facility
supports manufacturing of high precision models and prototypes to
support critical test and evaluation activities. Graphics, video,
and animation support is available to support a wide range of documentation
and external affairs requirements. Finally, the extensive Information
Technology (IT) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) resources of
Advanced Marine are now backed up by one of the largest collections
of IT tools and infrastructure on the planet, providing unprecedented
experience and resources to our clients
