R&P Technologies receives 2020 HIRE VETS MEDALLION AWARD from U.S. Department of Labor

U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia recognized R&P Technologies as one of the 675 recipients of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during an award ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor. R&P Technologies earned the Gold Award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

R&P Technologies joins 674 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs –with requirements varying for large, medium, and small employers.

R&P’s new Associate Director of Engineering and Industrial Operations


R&P Technologies would like to announce that Erik Ross RDML (Ret) has joined the R&P Team as Associate Director of Engineering and Industrial Operations.

Erik Ross is a native of Appleton, Wisconsin, and his first flag assignment, he served as the 67th president, Board of Inspection and Survey.

He received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program at Cornell, completed a Master of Arts in International Relations at the University of San Diego.

A surface warfare officer, he commanded USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41), served as executive officer aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5), fleeting up to command USS Bataan (LHD 5).

Ashore Erik served in the Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate on the staff of Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel, as the director of the Fleet and International Training Department (N72) at Surface Warfare Officers School, and as an instructor at the Navy’s Command Leadership School. He also served as OPNAV N953, branch head for amphibious warfare, and as chief of staff for Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic.
